SUMMARY:
Design and implement firmware for the SOC firmware development team. A
variety of areas of programming skills may be used in this position
including device drivers for a variety of device types, file systems, system
related programming (e.g. kernel support), audio streaming, etc. There are
also a wide range of openings in terms of needed skill. Depending upon skill
level, a highly experienced candidate for this position may be tasked with
responsibilities ranging from software system architecture making high level
design decisions, while a jr level developer could be more focused upon
implementing designs defined by other software designers. Developers hired
into this position will experience a well organized software development
process, in an organization carefully constructed to support their success.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
a.. Excellent C programming skills
b.. Minimum of 5 years of real time embedded system software design
experience-not just maintenance or support experience. Must have been part
of atleast one full-life cycle development effort that has made it into
production
c.. Experience with software development for ARM core, MIPs, and/or
DSP56k
core
d.. USB driver for ARM, DSP or MIPs
e.. SCSI protocol
f.. File systems
g.. Hard drives
h.. Flash media
i.. Display drivers
j.. USB Mass Storage Class Devices experience a plus
k.. PTP-Picture Transfer Protocol and/or MTP-Media Transfer Protocol
l.. Familiarity with audio and/or various audio compression formats
such as MP3 and WMA (not an algorithms expert)
m.. Ability to review/debug assembly required. Ability to implement
