Before you quote a few pargraphs from a web site, or post a url, please read
the content. Do some comparison shopping. Add some additonal information
and a few considered ideas. I'm going to take a vacation from reading your
posts, and check back in a week or two for any changes in your posts.

You apparently don't want to spend ANY time evaluating the
"information" you post either. Reading the first paragraph of the
original article link would have made it abundantly clear that this
has NOTHING to do with cold fusion.
You are posting misinformation, not information. That is worse than
no information at all. Too bad you can't understand that. Please
pack up your bags and apply for the Iraqi Information Minister job.

You find something, slap a "cold fusion" subject on it and spew
forth false garbage in this newsgroup. So far, you have mislabeled at
least two hot fusion references as cold fusion. Sloppy, sloppy,
sloppy. Alternatively, you might be a "devils advocate" that is
intentionally posting falsehoods. So, you are either a starry eyed
but sloppy "information" provider or simply a liar. So be it.

Bingo! Exactly. I'm not in the business of necessarily determining if
a story is true or false. I'm just trying to pass along information
related to cold or in some cases sono fusion. People can do with it
what they please. If the story doesn't sound interesting, they can
chose to ignore it. There are people who lurk on this thread looking
for information. That's all I'm providing. |

You may be "trying to pass along information" but you are not
succeeding. If a reporter were as careless as you, they wouldn't last
long and might even cause great harm to their organization.

Johnny, you really come off as a stupid idiot when you make a "cold
fusion" post that is really hot fusion. People who post/say/write
falsehoods intentionally are called liars. People who post/say/write
falsehoods unintentionally are called clueless idiots, assholes and
worse. The net community detests this attitude. You get killfiled at
best and unmerciful harassed at worst

No need to be rude Jimmy. Who really knows what the truth is anyway?
Geeze. Anyone who knows the history of science knows that many fields
have gone through similiar periods of controversy before final
acceptance. Even in established fields there are often conflicting
studies. Why should I try do determine which is true or false. This
is an information clearnig house. I post the articles for information
purposes, the rest of you can determine if they are true or false. I'm
not trying to mislead anyone. As I said, they can chose to ingore the
stories I am reposting. I am not the arbitrator of what is true or not
in this field. Just the messenger for this ng, which would be
essentially dead without someone posting to it.

Such is life. People can do with my posts whatever they please. What
difference does it make. The sun will still rise tomorrow. Perhaps
all these disparate fusion reports will someday be connected in some
way. So, perhaps they are relevant to cold fusion.

Another thing about me posting positive cold fusion reports and stories
on this ng. There certainly isn't a lack of skeptics or critics in
this newsgroup. I'd say the skeptics probably outnumber the
proponents. Any story or positive result that is posted is thoroughly
disected by the critics. So, it's not as if both sides of the debate
aren't being represented.
If there wasn't someone like me stirring the pot with new cold fusion
stories and results, then this ng would be essentially dead. You would
have no reason to frequent this ng in that case, as nothing new would
be discussed. So, I post new stories and results for informational
purposes. I don't necessarily endorse them, but put them out there for
anyone interested in learning what is going on in this field at the
moment. I have been thanked by one or two people who said they don't
have time to scour the Internet for the latest cold fusion news. So,
that is what I provide. That is why this ng exists in the first place.
What is wrong with me contributing to it? Why participate in a ng
dedicated to a topic that you feel is unproven? |

Such "conflicting studies" rarely conflict with firmly established
experimental results as cold fusion does. It's interesting that no matter
how many times this simple fact is explained to you, you resolutely refuse
to get it. "jimmy's" frustration is, I think, perfectly understandable
to anyone who has seen how much of an effort you make to appear to be

Because if you routinely post things that are false, no one will believe

guess to you?

Perhaps they are relevant to the secret recipe for Coca-Cola. Perhaps

mate in captivity. Perhaps they aren't relevant to anything.

No. Posting relevant stories and results regarding cold fusion to a ng
dedicated to cold fusion is hardly the definition of an Internet troll.
If someone came to this ng looking for the latest info about cold
fusion they'd be very happy to find my posts. A few have thanked me
for my efforts. How many trolls get thanked? As I said, this ng would
be essentially dead if I did not post any relevant stories to it. Who
else posts these stories? What would there be to discuss?
I respect you as a scientist Dr. Schultz, but you do have a pointed
personality. No need to be nasty. I do have to wonder why people who
think cold fusion doesn't exist, bother participating in such a ng
dedicated to the same topic? I mean, we all know your point of view
very well regarding CF. It seems to me as if you have a personal stake
in seeing cold fusion never succeed?!? |

Nope, not cold fusion. The report mentions bombarding a target

And they don't claim it to be. They call it Low Energy Nuclear

Be aware that this is by the choice of the cold fusioners. We would
love to have the 'names' posting here, but they choose not to.
There's an old saying about getting out of the kitchen if it's too hot
that is applicable here I think.
I did the same with Vortex. I was on it for awhile, seeking to
understand and present my views, but finally after Gene Mallove
and Jed Rothwell ganged up on me with offensive posts, I responded
in kind. _Then_ the moderator Bill Beatty, chastized _me_. That's
when I left. The difference between there and here is that there is
no moderator here who will stifle dissenting opinions (making it a
lot hotter here). (Interestingly, when I went back to the Vortex
archives to recover these posts, they somehow weren't there... So
you will have to trust me on this point, sorry)

Kirk,
Well, ummmm, thanks for agreeing with me. <grin> Johnny boy
thought it deserved a "cold fusion" subject. I was merely pointing
out the error. LENR, well, yeah, I knew that! Unlike Johnny, I did
read the article.

Correct, while this newsgroup was created primarily to get the cold
fusion discussions off alt.fusion, any fusion discussion is welcome.
However, it is a disservice to newsgroup readers when sloppy posters
mislabel posts. Johnny has already said he doesn't care about
accuracy.
