Hi friends,
here is the announcement for the next RTN school.
Cheers,
Gabi
----------------------------------
Dear colleagues,
We are glad to announce the next annual school of our RTN network
"Constituents, fundamental forces and symmetries of the universe",
which will take place at CERN on January 16-20, 2006.
The school is mainly intended for Ph.D. students and young postdocs.
It will consist of plenary lectures of general interest in the mornings
and parallel discussion sessions and working groups
in the afternoons. The afternoon of
Wednesday 18 will be devoted to a general presentation of the LHC
program, followed by a visit to some of the experimental sites. The
contact persons meeting will take place on Tuesday 17 in the
evening.
The scientific committee of the school is composed by J. Barbon, S.
Ferrara,
A. Sevrin, K. Stelle, S. Theisen, A. Uranga and A. Van Proeyen. The
topics
of the main lectures have been chosen (as discussed in Corfu),
and we are in the process of
contacting speakers. The topics of the discussion sessions are instead
still open. Suggestions concerning possible dicussion topics and
coordinators are welcome and should be sent to A. Uranga at the adress
Angel.Uranga@cern.ch
A website for the advertisement of the school and the on-line
registration of
the participants has been set up and can be visited at the address
http://www.unine.ch/phys/string/rtn-school/
Registration of all participants is particularly important to attend
the school, since a
pass is needed to access CERN. We also urge participants to register
as soon as possible in order to have better chances to take advantage
of the limited number of rooms that we have prebooked at the CERN
hostel. For more details see the above webpage.
We hope that many of you will be able to attend this event. Please also
inform all the members of your groups and any other young scientist of
our field who might be interested.
The local organizers,
J.-P. Derendinger, C. Scrucca and A. Uranga
