pumping hot oil

Any recommendations for a pump (type, brand?) which can pump 5 to 10
gpm hot cooking oil (~ 150 degrees C), low head - 3 ft or so. Oil
might have bits of solids suspended.
Power: 110VAC, or 12VDC. |

Look for a positive displacement pump lik Viking (www.vikingpump.com), and
Moyno (www.moyno.com).

You asked "Is there a reason to stay away from centrifugal pumps for
pumping hot
oil with some suspended solids?"
Yes and No. Solids in a centrifugal pump can erode the impeller.
There are slurry centrifugal pumps in mining service. I believe they
are the open impeller type. A closed Impeller has closer clearances.
Could I suggest a Blackmer Pump. |
