Is there a hole in this theory?
|
|

Hi All,
Please excuse the ignorance of a newbie here. Is there a hole in this
theory:
It can never be proven that this sentence is true.
Many Thanks!!

As long as it has a peiod after it, it's a sentence, true or not.

You need to define 'true' first. |

I don't think so - "True" is a simple Boolean value, the opposite
of False. Anything else is a misuse of the word.
You might however need to define "proven".

it doesn't matter because the statement is not a theory so the basic
challenge is flawed from the start. |

Okay, let's call it a statement. Can you disprove it? |

if its a statement then why bother on this group, this is a theories |
group... take it to a philosophy group where they know about abstract, or is
it obtuse, stuff like that. |

This is paradox.
If the sentence were proven to be true it were not true any more, and
vice versa.
