I do not know the book. I do know that Bayesian methods are what you should
be reading about, not t-tests, null hypotheses, etc.

and what do you think of "Introductory statistics" by Ross.
Some people say that this is a good book.

'Probability theory: the logic of science' by E. T. Jaynes. There are early
versions of it online, but I recommend buying it: it is more complete.

Hi,

I am currently doing research in the field of image analysis and
pattern recognition and I came to a point where i found i lack
knowledge in probability theory. which book would you recommend for
this area? something introductory. i would like to get deeper
understanding of prob. theory preferably through examples since I need
to apply it in a different area.
