to soak the Ni oxide powder fully in sulfuric acid
|
|
|
Hallo, i met a problem that while i leach the nickel oxide powder with
sulfuric acid, the powder will float on the sulfuric acid solution and
make the reaction uncomplete, and also eventhough later the powder
looks wet by the solution but a think layer of bubble/bulking like
nickel oxide powder still can be seen floating on the solution (im
sorry,hard to describe).
In this case, can i use anti-bulk agent to make the powder soak into
the sulfuric acid? or any other way to prevent the floating happen?
Thanks.. |

Ha, Thanks for ur idea. But i have used magnetic stirrer with 300 rpm
to have mix the sample well, and also i heat it at 200 celcius to make
reaction faster. However the bulking stuff still cant be dissolve
completely in the H2SO4 solution. |

Somewhat facetious but serious too. Sometimes you need to disperse
material before reaction or desolution. Like making gravy, you
disperse the flour in cold water first because if you add it to the hot
drippings, you get lumps. Maybe start with cold acid and disperse in
blender first.
