Math Forum:

I heard somewhere some one say, from the Media I suppose, comparing the News media people to Lawyers and Used Car Salesman....And you know, I know what they are talking about I think.

They say this is the Information Age, but I think whoever said that , that they are referring to Computer Hardware and Software and not the way we deal with this new technology.

The ideas of Truth seems to be a little bit hazy to this group. They seem to learn grammar, how to spell and speak and write but I see little evidence of rigorous application or any application of Information Concepts now available to Mathematicians and Computer Scientisits.

Some of the stuff that comes out of the News sources is simply outrageous.

They might ask, what does Information Concepts have to do with the content of the News itself?......Yikes! What kind of education do these people recieve???

I will leave it there for now.

The purveyors of such stuff are perfectly aware of how outrageous it
is.
