Enthalpy of formation of Cu(OH)_2(s): -450 kJ/mol
Source: G. Aylward, T. Findlay, SI Chemical Data, 5th ed., John Wiley
Australasia Ltd., 2002

Acquire this volume, it contains 'everything', at rather modest price.

Cheers again Dieter. I just gone and bought the book.

I am trying to find the DeltaG value for "Cu(OH)2".
I have looked in the latest CRC book but this figure is missing but is
does show the DeltaH value.
Could anyone help either convert this figure or point me to a source
where
I can get the figure?
Also, why would this figure be omitted?

It might be subject to the Official Secrets Act {:]

I found it in my trusty Aylward "SI Chemical Data":
-373 kJ/mol

I suppose you want the deltaG(0) value?
In case the book features DeltaH(0) and DeltaS(0) values, just use the
Gibbs-Helmholtz equation. Within a certain temperature interval, you can
neglect the temperature dependence of DeltaH and DeltaS. In case your book
features DeltaH and DeltaS for different temperatures or as a function of
temperature, much better.

best regards
Patrick
