Cheap shot, but wrong. This Institution comes within the Washington
accord. You sound like a quack who would like to be an approved
Engineer ! What Institution do you belong to ?

An approved Engineer who is recognised Internationally. It takes brains
to figure that one !

Hey! Store-bought credentials: the gold-front-tooth
of the engineering profession!
Do we also get a pinky ring with "Eng-i"
emblazoned upon it in sapphires...and that whistles
when you blow on it?
Sarcasm won't do much for the profession !
Sarcasm hides the pain brought on by seeing an age-old scam
brought back into circulation.
These are not store-bought.
They are not required by local employers, local governments. So
it is empty window dressing.
They are equivalent to the MANY already
approved initials in existence
Yes, they are made out of letters. And the altered case simply
makes them less easy to distinguish as meaning some sort of
honorarium.
but are a SINGLE INTERNATIONAL identity
for all approved Graduates. Is there
something wrong with this idea ?
If you can sell it to government as a requirement, say for
international commerce, it is just another straw on the camel's
back. Otherwise, it is simply another scam.

There are over 200 sets of qualification initials in use by Engineers,
worldwide. I can't see why Engineers are so against the introduction of
the initials * Eng-i * as a single identity, internationally.
maybe its because * Eng-i * looks quite gay

HI All,
My apologies to all the Doubters and Begrudgers. I am going on holidays
to-day and will be unable to reply to your postings. It makes me sad !
My advice to you is to go back to college and earn your * Eng-i *.
Engineering is a wonderful Profession and my aim is to improve it even
more, as best I can.
Regards to ALL,
Fintan Lynch, B.E., M.IEI., Eng-i.

And you call what you are doing "drumming up support"?
You are advertising on usenet. This is against the charter.
Continued behavior prohibited by the charter will get you
reported to your ISP. Then I won't have to listen to your
attacks on my character (if any).
Get governments to require your choice of initials in order to
get government contracts. Otherwise you are simply offering to
sell "name warts".

IMechE, nosey parker. Unless you get reciprocity with PE status in
American states (and you don't) then your Washington Accord is pretty
much a little carrot they dangled before your eyes, in a clever piece of
bait and switch politics.
Never heard of your lot, oh I see, a bogtrotter's collective, confusing
that you use the same initials as the Indians.
Funny I've been an engineer for 20 years and never heard of IEI before.
Of course if you really wanted an internationally recognised set of
initials to pump up your ego you could either get your chartership, or
EurEng.
But you wouldn't make any money out of that would you?
Cheers

Greg, or is that your alias ?
You are a nasty piece of work and a coward. You attack someone that you
know cannot respond. See a previous posting.
To me you are a Quack with a big chip on your shoulder masquerading as
an Engineer.
I have done a check in the different countries and you do not show up
as an Engineer. Who are you ? What Engineering Society do you belong to
?
I am in the education business and I know that the IEI represents some
of the worlds most advanced Graduates. Employers travel to Ireland to
recruit these Graduate Engineers. So the M.IEI has credentials, not
like you.
With regard to making money, the use of the ' Eng-i ' is FREE to THOSE
QUALIFIED. See website.
So as a gobshite, would you please shut up, go back to college, and let
us use this newsgroup as it should be used.

Yes, I've been masquerading as an engineer for 23 years. If you check out my

useful.

Well your research skills are obviously poor, since you couldn't even find out
which Institute I'm in even when I told you. So I'll reserve judgement on the
reliability of your opinions.

Who the f*** are you, wanker?
Why don't you read my post and answer the points it raises rather than just
masturbating in public?

Hi Greg,
I had reason to talk to Fintan Lynch this morning by telephone on an
important matter and he said that this bickering should stop as it is
foolish and a waste of everybodies time and bad for the Newsgroup. I
agree.
He sends his apologies for the insults, as do I.
So, will we call it quits and direct our energies positively elsewhere
?
