k-ary relations (tuples) are a particular kind of species. A good
reference for combinatorial objects and species is:
Combinatorial Species and Tree-like Structure by François Bergeron,
Gilbert Labelle, Pierre Leroux
or a web serach on 'species combinatorial' (wikipedia, etc)

Hello,
to deal with combinatorial objects on a ground set A, we can use k-ary
relations A x ...x A or the notion of species. When should I use k-ary
relations and when are species more appropriate. Is ther some work that
establishes a link between both concepts?
