Intensity mesasurement

I have a SLM 2231(complete) a remote control ZB 0016 (part of B&K 3547)
and accesories like mics, cables, and others. I want to know what other
elements are neccesary to make intensity meaurements.
Thanks and luck |

Interesting. Are microphone sensitive to sound intensity?
A sound level meter measures the sound pressure level.

sorry, but ZB 0016 is an intensity probe, but i'm not sure if i need
other elements to do that measures. (This unit, 2231 is able to make
vibration measurement inclusive, is a powerful machine).

Isn't the B&K 2231 a one channel only Sound (and vibration) Level Meter ?
For sound intensity measurements with microphones you need
two identical input channels and special signal processing, see
http://www.bksv.com/default.asp?ID=3027
The signal processing can also be made in software using a soundcard,
and you may use SLMs for the connecting of the microphones to the soundcard.

In what context? If you have a stationary source, then you just need some
maths. More generally you need another mic and preamp and analyser.
Why are you interested in intensity? It's one of the most useless concepts
I have ever come across in 20 odd years of noise work.
Cheers
