For more than one reason. A car cannot make that much current for long, where
most of the power is comming from the battery. I have seen vans
at CES with 16 woofers, driven by about 6000 watts.
For the most part, making the peaks is only for the bass. Its
probably too hard to precisly add phases with high frequencies
to get anywhere near that sound level.

Hello,
I am testing a sound protection and recording system that will
withstand very loud sounds. I need to test in a sound field that is at
least 135dB or better. I'm performing real world testing at 135 to
153dB SPL and need to simulate those levels in a room in my office
building. Can someone suggests a combination of components (speakers,
amplifiers, etc) and manufacturers that can get me close to these
ranges. The sounds that I am wishing to replicate are from jet aircraft
You might be able to get the levels and relative bandwidth using
a horn driven by an air gun of some sort. I'm crossposting this
message.

Doesn't have a jet aircraft loads of Low freq?
I think so, but the higher freqs dominate. I think it reminds me of a
acetelyne
torch, but a whole bunch louder. In another group, a driver by
Community was given which could deliver the 137 dB and more,
but limited from 100 to 4 kHz.
I can appreciate the noise involved. I have been to the drag strip,
and sat both to the side and very close to the rear of one of
those jet things. I put it on my camcorder, and played it back on the
stereo
with much of the same impact. Even though my camcorder does
a pretty good job on audio, there is some clipping involved. I don't
know the exact SPL these people are receiving at the track and at
indoor events. Some of the funny cars are pretty loud also.

I once caused panic with the operators of a Drag Racing Track when I
appeared at track side with a sound level meter and DAT Recorder. I measured
levels around 150 dB peak (around 10 metres from the cars) when the top
fuelers disappeared off down the track. Most impressive was the measured DC
shift in air volume from the exhaust gas emissions. More worrying were the
kids in the stands behind not wearing any hearing protection.

Fascinating! Here we have the eiptome of hypocrisy quoting the bible
to pass judgment on the very behavior in which he routinely engages.
One can only imagine what sort of drivel this delusional psychotic
piece of human waste will bestow upon us next.
