Glowing noodles - Not a CCD camera instrument.
We work with a company that manufactures high-sensitivity Photon
Counting instruments capable of detecting 50 photons per centimeter
squared. They consider the the photons emitted by common rust as
"bright!" They can measure the amount of oxidation caused by leaving
the lid off of the olive oil bottle for a couple of days. Or UV
oxidation of aged polymers. Or blood lipids from smoking.
Yes they even studied the packaging and shelf-life of Ramen Noodles. As
they get older, they oxidize and emit more and more photons as they
age. GLOWING NOODLES!
Liquid, solid or gas - TEI can measure oxidation from weathering, aging
or heat. Peroxides, lipids, cholesterols, oxygenated metabolites and
the effects of antioxidants. Good for material sciences, blood
pathology and even quality assurance.
Photons can be liberated by heating, irradiation (LED) or chemical
