I usually find that only Hicks and Evangelists say stuff like: " 'nuff
said " ,

Is that you Enis? We used to make a lot of fun of your name - I'm sorry
about that.

I see you adopted a punny psuedonym for what we called you. I'm so
sorry, can I help pay for your therapy, Harold Ruikheister?

EXACTLY!

THE black mass isn't Coltrane! It's nuance!

Lepton associated spooking at a distance creates intervalic events in
back time.

"trinos don't die - they just fade into other dimensions.

Some of those are time backwards. Some might be time forwards - but I
don't think the gravity laws of our Universe allow that very well. (Pun
intended.)

Did they tear down those sick buildings at UT Austin Campus yet? I
guess they made a magii monument for the Magnate of s**t from the b
Bricks?

The physicist who set back both space and time with his manifold
theories .. his name escapes me.

His name excapes most physicists as well. I believe it is
Stephen Hawking...another media darling but someone whose ramblings and
publications are not taken very seriously by the scientific community.
Perhaps he would do well to spend less time with his publisher,
publicity agent, and manager and devote more time in research and
study.

The funny thing about Hawking is that after being diagnosed with ALS
years back, he is still alive many years later. A female friend of
mine lasted for only one year after first being diagnosed. Any reader
that has spent time with a ALS patient will know exactly what I am
saying.

You really think this about Hawkings position in the scientific
community? May be, strange people write in this group.

What are you trying to say? You doubt Hawkings illness or not? In both
cases good manners would demand more clarity.

I think Hawkings state of health does not allow to play games with words.
It is unusual to survive such a diagnosis for so many years, but it happens.

Heinz, I believe my comment was sufficiently clear.

With ALS, when symtoms manifest themselves to the point of supporting a
positive diagnosis, in most cases death follows within a year. It is a
lethal disease, not a crippling long term affliction.

Hawking's physical appearance and disability suggests an unfortunate
life-long crippling disorder is present not unlike cerebral palsy, but
is completely atypical of ALS where its victims progress from
superificially good health and full functionality to crippling, loss of
speech, and death usually within a year.

Here's a quote from the ALS association: "Currently, there is only one
approved drug to treat the disorder, extending life for perhaps a few
months."

The question then becomes why would one claim to have ALS when in fact
they likely have CP? Lemme guess...lots of people have CP but tend to
otherwise lead normal and hopefully rewarding lives. Hawking, by
contrast, has build a life founded on publicity, not scientific
achievement, and his claim of ALS sets him apart from the many with CP
and other physically crippling disorders.

I have nothing against the guy, except for the bravado that he uses to
sell his coffee table books. Everything Hawking published make very
pretentious claims, still I have yet to ever see any of his
publications or papers cited in the mainstream journals of physical
science. He is primarily a "media darling", not the great scientist as
his PR team would have you believe. More a Carl Sagan than an Albert
Einstein.

Does this help to clarify the substance of my comment?
