Let I_1, ... , I_n be ideals and P be prime ideal containing
intersection of I_i.

Prove that P contains some I_i.
If P=intersection of I_i, prove that P=I_i for some i.

So, is it just me remembering things that never happened, or was there
a time when people actually asked for help with their homework by
saying things like "Could someone please help me", instead of copying
their assignment as if they were issuing orders to the newsgroup?

HINT: what happens if you can find, for each, i, and element a_i in
I_i but not in P? Can you come up with an element that would be in the
inersection but not in P?

First of all "Gene13" now we know who you are and you are a cheater.
The OP's are from Serkan Hosten's 850 Abstract Algebra (SFSU) Take Home
midterms and final. The rules of
engagement were made fairly clear and you are in direct violation of
these terms. You are not a student of math but rather skilled at taking

dictation of other's work. Have you no shame? I suggest you not turn in

a final. You will be reported to the Math Department.

Interesting ... none of Gene13-AT-gmail.com's posts
seem to be at google's usenet archive anymore. Well, if
anyone wants to document his/her activity, the URL's below
will be useful. Incidentally, if for some reason he/she
manages to get the posts deleted from The Math Forum,
note that the second URL includes sci.math archives
besides google and Math Forum, and you can additionally
make use of the cached versions should some of these
also start to disappear.

If google hides part of this because of the e-mail address
it contains, insert "Gene13-AT-gmail.com" (use the "at"
symbol for -AT-) between "/search?q=" and "&filter=0".
