good amplifier
|

Dear All,
I'm getting Clio measurement system, I need a good amplifier, but my budget is already tight...also, I'm located in Malesia so it needs to be a world famous brand, I was thinking about a 80W on 8W max. I was thinking of searching for a Carver, but the more names you can give me the better. I've been out of biz for almost two years I'm starting to forget names (I've met the guy that's why it keeps on popping in my mind)
Thanks |

It would probably help if you could describe what you need the amplifier to
do.
You might get more help from an audio forum.

80W sounds like a big amp for a bit of testing. You can buy amps in kit form
that aren't too expensive from electonics suppliers. Maplins have various
things available.

Dear Steve, |
I'm located in Malaysia, there's an electronic shop I could buy things, but
how reliable what I build will be? How about integrated power amplifiers,
like some of the TDA, or lm4702, some claim to have very low distortion. how
about the class... I should seek for class A, or AB is also fine... it's a
bit more complicated like that, but for sure a lot cheaper solution than
buying a branded. I was able to find a shop that was selling crown, they had
the 45W per channel studio reference amplifier, but it's a bit costly, and
they need eight weeks to deliver! That's another problem being in Malaysia.
