what's the gas with the smell of ammonia

i heated a mineral in 500 degree, and then put it into the
acid(hydrochloric acid or vitriol ), with the result that some gas was
produced. the gas was of the ammonia smell, colorless. the gas can
produce white deposit in Ca(OH) solution but can't make the KMnO4(H+)
fade. the white deposit can be solved in acid.
the problem is what the gas is.
please leave the answer or mail me (20021121@sina.com) if you know
the answer. |
