Cost Estimation
|
|
|
I am looking for recommendations for a company that can perform project
cost estimation. We need cost estimates for both our costs (to do the
evaluation) and estimates that we can pass on to our clients regarding
any recommendations we make.
Thanks for the help,

Let's see here. What sort of project are you looking at? How big is it?
What is involved? How detailed a scope are you providing? Does it involve
plain old engineering, or is there some science or magic involved in getting
the job done? What is the time frame? What is the acceptable error of the
quote? Which stage is your project in? Where are you?
There are a lot of firms out their, each with their own strengths and
abilities. My guess is that if you are a little more detailed in your
project description that you'll get a few folks more interested. With the
right details, the right folks will be interested.
There are some websites for RFQ's. I don't know how good they are.

The project is an evaluation of refinery furnaces. They would be
estimating our cost (the cost of gathering data and doing the
evaluation) and the cost of our recommendations (ie, new tube support
material, an air preheater installation, etc). It isn't a huge project,
but we would likely need the services again for future projects. The
main concern is that our company (Brazilian) isn't able to properly
assess costs of this project because it is in the US.
Any further suggestions? |

I would first contact the original manufacturers and ask their opinion on
the project. There are a few engineering firms here which specialize in
this type of equipment. It isn't unusual for them to be multinational
firms.
