JET

I heard that as a last fling during the decomissioning process they did a
final test and during the test they celebrated finall success and faxed all
their mates then all the lines went down and people in oxford saw the
fireball and felt the blast. Jet is reported to have exploded. 500 lives
lost, no survivors, just a big hole!
I may be dreaming but that what the spires at oxford are for. There was a
brief mention on the news. The last time I went there the whole site was up
for sale.
They'll never sell it! The place is so remote that no one will bother to
work there.
I might be dreaming of course!
Whe did you last go to Jet to see?

Bet they didn't work! Anyway its closed! It failed completely!
I might build one in my back garden. Cost $50!
Torus $30 length of 1/4 copper tube $10 high voltage 47 uF capacitor $5 car
battery $10.
Some diacs and control gear.
Oh and a spark gap power limiter to prevent it damaging the environment the
neigbours might not like the collateral damage of the thing became unstable,
and neutrons well.
What is it per gram of hydrogen? 1 Kiloton TNT?
I've got one on my shelf but I can't get the hydrogen and we poor British
cannot own hydrogen because of its chemical explosive properties, I suppose
hydrogen a a nuclear explosive might be even more dangerous. I suppose I
could generate some with some zinc and sulphuric acid or just battery acid
and a voltameter and my dc power supply. Get the oxygen remnant with some
pyrogallol, then dry it over anhydrous calcium oxide in the test tube over
the hydrogen generator and then seal with a bung and use a hand vaccuum pump
to reduce the pressure to 3 mm.
I just can't get round to it.
It probably contravines the by-laws.

Hello,
The site was up for sale last time I passed by.
However I heard a report that the last test before decommisioning was so
succesful that the fireball was visible both in Oxford and Reading and thr
blast was heard in many parts of oxfordshire.
Poeple visiting this remote country site report total devastation and damage
to the agaicent motorway.
They must have ommitted the voltage clamp I said was essential.
There were allegedly no survivors of the 500 hundred staff who were
celebrating success in the tea room with conyack and caviar sandwiches.
The last recorded power level recieved by drax was a peak of 1000 megawatts.
Spoof report: or go and see for yourself if you can find it! It is not on
the map an no trains actually go there.
