You people have kept my interest for one reason and one reason only:

I need to understand how you lie.

Truth is the highest ideal.

I think most people want to be part of something bigger than themselves
to feel like there is a great purpose which makes everything
worthwhile.

But YOU people. You people seem to want nothing of reality at all.

So you ignore mathematical proof, and spit on logic.

You HATE when you should look for knowledge.

You insult, when you should ask, what if?

What is inside of you? What demons drive you? What snakes inhabit
your souls?

How can you be?

I study you and wonder, and it seems like as much as I learn, there's
more to learn.

What things inhabit your minds?

If you care so much about math, why don't you post in any threads other
than your own?

I mostly think about food. Yep, mostly food. Can't get enough of it.
You can't eat theorems, especially half-baked ones.

<<< For you it is obvious; narcissistic personality disorder (NPD).

You have at least five of the following for my NPD diagnosis:

* has a grandiose sense of self-importance (e.g., exaggerates
achievements and talents, * expects to be recognized as superior
without commensurate achievements)
* is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power,
brilliance, beauty, or ideal love
* believes that he or she is "special" and unique and can only be
understood by other special or high-status people (or institutions)
* requires excessive admiration
* has a strong sense of entitlement, i.e., unreasonable expectations of
especially favorable treatment or automatic compliance with his or her
expectations
* takes advantage of others to achieve his or her own ends
* lacks empathy: is unwilling to recognize or identify with the
feelings and needs of others
* is often envious or believes others are envious of him or her
* has arrogant affect, haughty behaviors or attitudes

I think you have them ALL!!!

Have a great day Mr. Harris!

Actually, what you have forgotten is that ideal theory is flawed and
full of mistakes, which is why the fact that "truth is the highest
ideal" does not mean much...

(this makes far more sense, just switch "you",<=> "I" Is this a failure
of language, or is JSH really talking to himself, indirectly ?)

This is excellent - and I am diappointed I didn't mention it!

Thank you for reminding me and for the chuckle!

Here's a crazy idea: Why not learn some maths instead? I suggest you try reading Hamilton's "Logic for Mathematicians"... it was the first book I read after finishing my physics degree. It taught me some interesting maths, but more importantly it made me realise just how little maths I had learned during 4 years studying physics. In fact, it is fair to say that before I read that book I didn't know what a rigorous proof was. It is evident from reading your many claims of "proof" that you are in the same position that I was in before I read Hamilton's book.

Seriously, check it out... what have you got to lose, except your ignorance?
