Excel trigonometry problem
|
|
|
After skipping every trigonometryclass when I went to school 15 years ago I
now starting to regret myself. Starting to look at the internet and soon
found what I was looking for but when I started to put it in to my
Excel-worksheet I doesnt get relevant answers. After looking into Excel I
faced with the problem of converting between degrees and radians.
My problem is fairy simple:
Degrees: 23,5
Lenght: 120mm
Rise: [=TAN(23,5) x 120] gives me the answer 1934,727
TAN 23,5 gives me 16,12272 but when I calculate it at my pocketcalculator I
get 0,4348 which is what I want.
My problem can have two solutions:
* How do I convert from degrees to radians and vice versa
* How do I change settings in Excel so it calculates with degrees instead of
radians
My Excelversion is Excel 2000 9.0.4402 SR-1 Swedish
Please answer by mail since I dont often read news
