I am facing trouble in the conversion of decimal to negative base i.e., nega-binary, nega-decimal etc, for real number, i.e., fractional number and vise versa. One of the approaches is to simulate physical model and start with small hypercube which then will expand itself. But I'd like to use some optimization libraries (I have IPOPT installed). As I understand it, this is multivariable optimization problem. Does Ipopt support it? If not can it be transformed into single variable problem? Is there areny other optimization libraries that can solve such problem? If not then if there any software which is capable to simulate hypercube expansion inside convex polytope?

There is only one eigenvalue with order of multiplicity 4. So we need the dimension of the nullspace of A to be 4, so that A is a diagonalizable matrix.

<span class="postbody">The fortuitous identification of a unique dimension set, and part of its meaning, led to a simple equation group that meshes wavelengths, frequencies and Euclidean geometry. The dimension set is the length 47.713 cm at an angle of 26.25400 degrees.

I've been reading Volovik's book 'The Universe in a Helium Droplet' and wondered if someone who knows more than I can explain something to me.

He says throughout the book that Lorentz invariance emerges in the low-energy corner. I was wondering exactly how this comes about, for example, I can't see anywhere a proof that the O(1,3) group emerges.

Basically, I was wondeing if someone could explain how it comes about, how it is proved to be Lorentz invariance and where I can find a definative proof that it is Lorentz invariance.

Consider an experimental procedure to measure the average volume of M&M Peanut candies. One hundred piece of the candy are poured into a graduated cylinder with a 30 diameter. The cylinder is then filled with 1 mm diameter beads and shaken so that the beads and candies pack as tightly as possible. Finally, the candies are removed and the change in volume noted.

Compute the change in estimated volume if 0.1 mm dia beads were used in place of the 1 mm dia beads. Can you define a relationship that estimates the change in estimated volume of the candies based on the diameter of the beads used in the measurement?
