Modern physics simply has the characteristic failures of the human
species, which range mostly between Mediocrity and Ingenious Imitation.
Physicists and mathematicians and engineers and financiers and
lawyers and accountants and
computer-speed-up-specialists-with-extra-modular-parts-costing-a-fortune
basically rule the world, with mathematicians at the very bottom in the
pecking order.
Physics does have alternative theories - mostly different from nation
to nation, or perhaps more accurately from "civilization" to
"civilization" or "socioeconomic complex" to "socioeconomic complex".
Mexico via P. Rasu and Italy have broken through the usual obsession
with tensors and quantum operators to specialize in the Riccati
Differential equation among other things. And so on. I'll try to
continue this later.

There will always be philosophical questions that no one can answer.
Is the universe a deterministic system or is it random? Is there a
fundamental physical entity (or "atom")? Why do physical laws exist and
who make them? Is there some kind of intelligent design?

That's why we call them philosophical these days.

Pentcho makes a valid point.
He deserves an intelligent reply rather than the name calling, which is all
you 'critics' seem capable of.
"The greater part of critics are parasites, who, if nothing had been written,
would find nothing to write."
J. B. Priestley
Outcries and Asides.

Also falling with relativity would be Lorentz's ether theory and
Maxwell's electrodynamics! Leaving us with the mystery of why the
Lorentz transformation leaves the measured speed of light of Maxwell's
wave equations a fixed number when 'nature' doesn't. |
